Cosmic-attention magic
Powerful casting is not free. It attracts the notice of things that should remain asleep.
Shardless roguelite MMO in development
Death does not end your story. It changes where you must survive.
Enter one persistent dark-fantasy world where reckless spellcasting draws cosmic attention, other players can become allies or predators, and every true death pushes your soul into a deeper, more dangerous Layer.

The validation demo
The first public-facing build stays deliberately small. It must prove that combat, cooperation, betrayal, death and descent form a loop players choose to experience again.
Meet other players, choose a lean loadout and decide who you trust before leaving safety.
Fight toward one elevated objective where players can cooperate, compete or turn on each other.
A true death begins the next life one Layer below, with a new survival problem instead of a reload screen.
Secure the soul and fight back upward. Die while unmoored and risk a catastrophic fall toward the final life.
Why the world is dangerous
Powerful casting is not free. It attracts the notice of things that should remain asleep.
Death changes the world around your character and moves the soul closer to permanent loss.
Later-life souls create reasons for hunters, escorts, rescuers, guilds and informants to exist.
The goal is a shardless logical world with spatial interest management, not isolated match servers.
Death should create recovery stories and hard choices without erasing every useful part of a build at once.
Guilds are planned as economic and political bodies that control trust, information and protection.
World structure
The living world holds settlements, contested objectives and the relationships worth risking a soul to protect.
Only the first compact route is part of the current validation target.
Built to answer a question
Aethelgard is not presenting a finished MMO. The next milestone is a stable, complete combat-death loop that ten unrelated testers can play without a guided tour.
The demo succeeds when
If players do not return, the loop changes before the world gets bigger.
Private playtest list
Early sessions will be rough, reset often and focus on whether the core loop works. Request access if you are comfortable reporting confusing rules, unfair deaths, multiplayer problems and reasons you did or did not want another run.

Straight answers
No. It is an early prototype being shaped around a small external validation test.
The direction is one persistent logical world. The current prototype has not yet proven its long-term population target.
No final rule is locked. The current experiment moves the soul one Layer deeper and tests partial loss, recovery and catastrophic repeat death.
Only invited testers with an account and signup key can access protected builds through the tester launcher.
